The official opening ceremony for the Carrefour North West Distribution Centre was well-attended by representatives from YCH and Carrefour as well as key industry partners and distinguished guests from both the Singapore and Tianjin governments. The contract marks YCH's second major collaboration with Carrefour within a year, following YCH's appointment by Carrefour to manage its Western Distribution Centre located in Chengdu in April 2015. Mr Thierry Garnier, President and CEO of Carrefour China, who was present at the ceremony, reaffirmed the close cooperation between the two organisations, citing YCH's strong management capabilities as key factor in the appointment.
YCH China’s Chief Executive Mr Leon Hong reiterated YCH's commitment to operational excellence, having pledged to provide top-notch service to our world-class customers like Carrefour. He said, "YCH's continued partnership with Carrefour is a testament to our progressive and synergistic relationship with our partners and demonstrates our unwavering commitment in meeting the evolving needs of consumers. Moving ahead, we hope to be able to play a pivotal role in Carrefour's growth strategy across China".
YCH also introduced an industry-led training initiative with the Tianjin College of Commerce via the EduRISE initiative, to develop the next generation of talents in logistics and supply chain management. More than 150 students and teachers have graduated from the programme to date, becoming well-rounded supply chain professionals that continue to contribute to the growth of Tianjin and China.
