As we draw close to the end of the year, here are some of the happenings around the region!

Just as YCH always aims to scale greater heights, CEO Bennett Neo led a group of YCHees on a 2-day, 1-night trip to climb Mount Datuk as well as explore the Malacca town.

Mount Datuk, also known as Mount Rembau, is a 885 metre-tall mountain located at Rembau, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia near Malacca. The hike takes around 5 – 6  hours and is suitable for anybody of moderate fitness level. The good part about climbing Mount Datuk is you also get to visit Malacca town as part of the day trip.

On the first day the YCHees boarded a bus which took them to the Mount Datuk Mountain Base, where everyone was greeted by a guide who shared more about the mountain and carried out a safety briefing. The YCHees then began the arduous journey and enjoyed the immense satisfaction of reaching the top in the afternoon.

The next morning the group explored the colonial and rustic streets of Malacca, and enjoyed some delicious Malaysian cuisine, before embarking on the journey back to Singapore. By the evening, everyone arrived back in Singapore with wide smiles on their face and stronger bonds between one another.

YCHees brought joy to the children of the Keelottivakkam Grama Sangam Orphanage in Chennai while paying a visit in October 2015. The HR Manager, Finance Manager and team met with the children and distributed sweets, bringing wide smiles to their faces. YCH also pledged a donation of Rs 5000 every month for the education and development of the children, demonstrating its commitment to helping the underprivileged in society.

From November 1 to December 19, the annual sports event, HUNGAMA 2015, was conducted in YCH’s Chennai Office to increase participation in sports and foster team building among YCHees. Over a course of six weeks, YCHees formed six teams and took part in 13 different sports events.

The winners were crowned at the Annual Dinner and Dance event, KONNECKT 2015 on 19th December 2015. Long serving YCHees of India were honoured at the joyous event as well, celebrating the close of an amazing 2015.

Between 17th to 23rd December, YCHees at each of the four YCH facilities in Singapore gathered together for a time of celebration and appreciation during the festive season. Along with food and gifts, laughter and cheer filled each celebration as YCHees enjoyed each other’s presence as the year draws to a close.
