At strategic regional nodes such as Vietnam SuperPort®, the Group is piloting machine learning and computer vision applications to support trade document authentication and cargo security screening. These initiatives demonstrate the potential for AI to improve operational efficiency, accuracy and responsiveness, while providing a foundation for scaling proven capabilities across YCH’s wider international network.
Beyond technology adoption, the Champions of AI programme places strong emphasis on organizational readiness, job redesign, and workforce capability. Through this initiative, YCH aims to reskill 1,200 employees in Singapore and over 3,000 more across the region, while methodically redesigning more than 600 operational roles. Moving beyond individual skills and baseline AI literacy, the transformation focuses on embedding new ways of working and strengthening organizational capabilities to ensure consistent service standards globally. For instance, redesigned mid-level roles will shift toward data analysis, scenario planning, and strategic operations—supporting YCH’s ambition to scale AI-enabled supply chain solutions internationally while creating higher-value roles for its workforce.
