SINGAPORE, 5 May 2025 – YCH Group and Yovel East Agriventures have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) under the ASEAN Food Security Alliance (AFSA) framework to improve agricultural supply chain resilience across Southeast Asia.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Yap Kwong Weng, Head of Strategy, Sustainability, and Communications at YCH Group and CEO of Vietnam SuperPort®, alongside James Ampara, CEO of Yovel East Agriventures.
The signing was witnessed by Dr. Robert Yap, Executive Chairman of YCH Group, and William Dar, Executive Director of ASEAN-BAC Philippines and Senior Advisor to AFSA.
AFSA is a legacy initiative of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC) Philippines that aims to enhance the ASEAN region’s food security through strategic partnerships, technology and knowledge exchange, and expanded market access.
Global supply chain disruptions, compounded by climate change and geopolitical instability, continue to pressure regional food systems. In an increasingly unpredictable trade environment, cross-sector collaborations leveraging complementary capabilities are essential. This partnership directly addresses these challenges by targeting post-harvest losses, port congestion, and inefficiencies in farm-to-market logistics.
By leveraging the Smart Growth Connect (SGConnect) platform, an ASEAN-BAC initiative led by YCH Group, the collaboration aims to enhance connectivity, improve transparency, and ensure more reliable access to food and agricultural resources across borders.
This partnership marks a meaningful step forward in advancing ASFA’s mission of building a more sustainable, inclusive, and future-ready food ecosystem for ASEAN. By championing smart, personalized and integrated solutions, the partnership sets the stage for sustainable growth, deeper regional connectivity and stronger supply chains.
