YCH strengthens presence in China through new developments in Shandong

- Apart from collaborating with the Qingdao Economic and Technological Development Admin Committee to develop a logistics park in Huangdao to boost supply chain capabilities for Shandong province, YCH also signs enhanced MOU with state-owned Qingdao Iron & Steel Group to implement City Supply ChainTM solution in Qingdao

Shandong, CHINA, 24 October 2014 - YCH Group (“YCH”), Asia Pacific's leading integrated logistics and end-to-end supply chain solutions company announced two upcoming strategic developments pertaining to its expansion in Shandong - the second largest economic province in terms of GDP in China.

1. Establishing a World-class Logistics Park to Boost Overall Distribution Efficiency for Shandong

The Qingdao Economic and Technological Development (“QETD”) Area Administrative Committee and Singapore-based YCH Group will jointly develop a modern logistics park in Qingdao's Huangdao district for the consolidation of goods both imported and locally manufactured for distribution throughout Shandong and the surrounding provinces. The partnership will focus on implementing international, best-in-class supply chain solutions to cater to Food & Beverages, white goods, consumer electronics and other FMCG sectors for distribution in Huangdao and Shandong province; as well as improving product distribution efficiency and quality, to raise the overall satisfaction levels of the end consumers in the region. Eventually, the joint cooperation will also expand into a logistics park to bring in more companies from Singapore and Asia.

The MOU signing took place at the 18th Singapore-Shandong Business Council (SSBC) Meeting held in Jinan, capital of Shandong province on 21 October 2014 and was witnessed by Shandong's Vice-Governor Mr. Xia Geng and Singapore's Minister of State for Trade & Industry Mr. Teo Ser Luck, who said, “YCH is a good example of a Singapore homegrown logistics company that has expanded across China through building both network and depth to provide synergistic benefits to multiple stakeholders. As a SCM company that has delivered innovative, modern logistics and sustainable supply chain solutions, I am heartened that YCH continues to break new grounds in China and promulgate the Singaporean hallmark of productivity and efficiency beyond our shores.”

2. Optimizing End Consumer Fulfilment in Qingdao through City Supply ChainTM Solution

YCH also signed an enhanced MOU with state-owned Qingdao Iron & Steel Group to reaffirm and expand scope of cooperation in Qingdao on 23 October 2014. The signing was witnessed by Singapore Minister of State for Trade & Industry Mr. Teo Ser Luck and Mayor of Qingdao Mr. Zhang Xinqi.

Riding on the original MOU which was first signed in June this year, the enhanced partnership terms strengthen the Joint Venture (JV) collaboration and commitment to develop an advanced City Supply ChainTM hub in Qingdao's Licang district to offer end-to-end supply chain solutions that will enable both international and domestic manufacturers to optimize supply and distribution networks and streamline last mile fulfilment for their end consumers. The JV will focus on raising the overall productivity of Qingdao's logistics network and improving product freshness, quality, safety and security through the application of YCH's patented City Supply ChainTM solution to various markets including industrial materials, F&B, white goods, consumer electronics and other FMCG products.

The enhanced collaboration leverages on QDIS's strategic location of its premises, transportation and other availability of other resources; in combination with YCH's in-depth supply chain management experience, in-house IT capabilities and world-class operating models to form a strong partnership. This strategic collaboration aims to deliver professional modern logistics infrastructure and expertise with best-in-class standards in line with the modernization plans of Qingdao.
