Vietnam SuperPort® Off-Airport Cargo Terminal Scales Capacity for Next-Gen AI and Tech Logistics

Vietnam, 20 October 2026 – Regional logistics infrastructure received a strategic upgrade following key operational expansions at Vietnam SuperPort®, an 83-hectare multimodal hub developed through a joint venture between YCH Group and T&T Group. With YCH Group being a TAPA Platinum Premier Partner, the hub aligns security protocols and sustainable infrastructure across a regional network spanning 15 markets and more than 100 cities in Asia Pacific.

“By linking strategic nodes across our operating footprint, we aim to enable more seamless, secure, and resilient trade flows across the region and beyond,” stated Dr. Yap Kwong Weng, CEO of Vietnam SuperPort® and Head of Strategy, Sustainability and Communications at YCH Group, during a briefing at the recent TAPA APAC Supply Chain Resilience & Sustainability Conference 2026 held in Singapore in September.

Central to the Vietnam SuperPort® master plan is the integration of air, sea, road, and rail transport into a unified ecosystem designed to offer supply chains improved optionality, routing flexibility, and operational resilience. Located in Phu Tho, the development features a planned International Dry Port that strengthens links to Hai Phong’s seaport network, alongside a planned rail interchange connecting directly to the Lao Cai–Hanoi–Hai Phong railway—a core section of the China–Vietnam logistics corridor.

Off-Airport Cargo Terminal Expands Capacity and Security Standards

To address regional air-cargo constraints, the facility’s Off-Airport Cargo Terminal (OACT) serves as an extended processing hub for Noi Bai International Airport. Situated 18 kilometers from the airport along major freight corridors, the OACT offers an annual handling and storage capacity of 30,000 tons. By allowing cargo consolidation, X-ray screening, Unit Load Device (ULD) build-up, and customs clearing to occur off-site prior to airport dispatch, the hub bypasses gateway congestion, lowers operational costs, and shortens turnaround times.

To support high-value trade flows, the facility secured TAPA FSR Level A certification and C-TPAT compliance. Furthermore, regulatory approval for a revised Aviation Security Program has enabled the facility to expand its service offerings from ULD operations to include loose-cargo processing. Working alongside leading global freight forwarders, the terminal is actively handling high-value, time-sensitive technology freight — including AI server racks, networking equipment, and consumer electronics — for major multinational corporations in the tech, manufacturing, and retail sectors.
