YCH RECEIVES RECOGNITION FOR EXEMPLARY HR PRACTICES, AT THE 6TH MAY DAY MODEL PARTNERSHIP AWARDS

Singapore, May 24th, 2014 - YCH Group ("YCH"), Asia Pacific's leading integrated logistics and end-to-end supply chain solutions partner, was awarded the May Day Model Partnership Awards 2014 by the National Trades Union Congress ("NTUC") today.

Centred on this year's theme of "Better Workers, Better Jobs", the ceremony was held at the Devan Nair Institute for Employment and Employability. Out of the three categories under the Awards this year, one of it honoured top human resources ("HR") managers and supervisors for creating inclusive workforces through redefining productivity parameters and transferring gains back to workers. These policies have also been noted to arm workers with transferable knowledge and best practices, thereby increasing these workers' value within the industry. By aligning HR policies to the aforementioned objectives, companies like YCH are able to develop a more resilient and adaptable workforce.

In 2013, YCH implemented various industry best practices whilst operationalizing their warehouse facility at the Tampines LogisPark. The facility integrated productivity improvement initiatives that improved operational efficiency and scalability, while upskilling and increasing their workers' employability. This was achieved through the successful partnership between YCH, National Transport Workers' Union and NTUC's Employment and Employability Institute ("e2i").

Apart from direct advancement to supervisory levels, material handlers at YCH could also choose to progress along different career pathways such as the Logistics Specialists' track or take on the driver's career path to operate lorries or prime movers. This not only enhanced their employability within the supply chain industry but redefined and enriched workers' experiences at the company - enabling them to enjoy a richer portfolio of skills while mutually benefitting from productivity gains enjoyed by the company.

YCH was also recognised at the May Day Model Partnership Awards 2014 for good employment practices, which included embracing workforce diversity based on meritocracy, facilitating flexibility in work hours and organising employee welfare activities while creating a safe working environment for them.

Ms Margaret Toh, Executive Director at YCH Group, said, "We are proud to receive this year's May Day Model Partnership awards. As an innovation-driven company focused on achieving continuous productivity and scalability for our customers, we strive to create a future ready workforce that is resilient and a pool of quality talent for the industry which will in turn raise the bar of the industry.By creating these opportunities for our staff to upskill and learn about new technologies, they have gained a more holistic understanding of how different functions synergise to create a robust supply chain."

YCH continues to reinforce their position as Asia's preferred supply chain solutions provider through its network and depth in the region, as well as championing productivity through resource and space optimization. Through the innovation of supply chain management best practices and fostering valuable relationships with key stakeholders in the micro and macro business environments, the company hopes to raise the bar the industry and lead by example.
