Roger Yap (VP, Global Operations)
Roger has been key driver in the operational process planning, start up, implementation, and management of many Global Enterprise Logistics and Supply Chain projects in his 20 over years with YCH. With his extensive experience in the management of third party logistics and supply chain management across multiple industries, Roger oversees the group operations as well as manages strategic accounts in Greater China.
Roger started in YCH as Logistics Clerk learning the nitty gritty ground-up (from documentation procedures to driving forklifts) in 1976 and has phenomenally climbed the corporate ladder in YCH by holding various positions within the Group, including being as Operations Executive from 1980 to 1986, Operations Manager from 1987 to 1990, Senior Operations Manager from 1990 to 1994 and appointed to his current position in 1994.
His expertise has resulted in the Group's unprecedented competitive advantage of being able to setup & implement a World Class Logistics and Supply Chain solution in any country Greenfield, within 3 to 6 months for Fortune 500 MNCs.
Roger's invaluable experience has been credited with appointments and invitations to be a member of professionally accredited associations such as Institute of Shipping Management, and the Society of Handling & Logistics Management.
