YCH recently participated in the SME Centre Conference 2016, an annual event for micro and small enterprises to learn how to grow their business, and network with well-respected business leaders and knowledge experts. Jointly organised by the SME Centres and supported by SPRING Singapore, the conference seeks to expose SMEs to fresh business ideas and management models, as well as insights and experiences of industry leaders and experts. The SME Centre Conference is also a valuable channel for SMEs to gain practical and valuable information about business outlook and trends.

Dr Robert Yap was a keynote speaker at the event, talking about the ‘Importance of Adapting For Progressive Growth’. Dr Yap spoke about building a robust corporate culture as well as a driving innovation. He also spoke about building a sustainable talent pipeline.

The Guest of Honour was Dr Koh Poh Koon, Minister of State, Ministry of Trade & Industry and the theme of this year’s event was “Go Grow Globalise – Leaner, Smarter Singapore”. The focus areas included becoming more manpower-lean through business model innovation and transformation; enhancing workforce quality through capability transformation; and adding value to employees’ careers, and building a Singaporean core by hiring and training local talent.
